About the fitness + wellness industries
This sector is growing rapidly. Recent estimates cite the fitness industry as growing at roughly 9% and participation rates are still largely in the 18-35 demographic. The related wellness industry is also enjoying unprecedented growth and increasingly gyms are transforming into health and wellness centres and challenging our concept of exercise.
Recently the industry has tried to bridge the gap to working in the health industry and with the enhancement of the Fitness Diploma as part of the revised Sports and Recreation Training Package it looks likely that career paths in this exciting area will be significantly expanded.
