About the media sector
This very broad and productive area of the creative industries is essential to the way in which we define ourselves as a nation. Increasingly there is the need to create content across a variety of media and entertainment platforms and skills to produce visual and written content are at an all time premium. A central challenge to the industry is the development of new technologies that are constantly changing modes of production.
Careers in this industry are diverse and encompass both creative and technical roles. The traditional apprenticeship (or cadetship) model was once used by the film and television and print media industries and SkillsHub will continue to provide information to the media industries on how VET pathways may be used to recruit new participants and improve the skills of existing workers.
